Get There From Here

Get There from Here

This song was ‘inspired’ by the ‘mean girls’ I worked with at the time. You know the kind. We went to high school with them and they grew up to be ‘professional’ mean girls.

I needed to find peace, a place of rest, in my mind. Somewhere I could ‘go’ when my heart just hurt from the environment I had to endure at this particular job.

I didn’t quit the job. I wouldn’t quit the job. Because the ‘job’ was at work in me. Building inner strength, confidence, resilience, and belief in myself, my God. Enduring the hard things. Facing the mean. Running towards and not away. A friend once said to me, it’s not what happens ‘to’ you but ‘for’ you that builds inner strength. IF, we see it that way. See it. That way.
